Acad sets scientific, tech honors
The Academy of motion Picture Arts & Sciences introduced today that eight scientific and technical achievements will probably be honored within the annual Scientific and Technical Honours Presentation, being held Feb. 11 within the Beverly Wilshire Hotel.
Achievements receiving Scientific and Technical Honours don't need to are actually developed and introduced throughout 2011. Rather, the achievements must demonstrate a recognised record of adding significant value to the whole process of making movies. The Academy awards for scientific and technical achievements would go to 28 folks eight different groups. An Academy Award of Merit (Oscar statuette) would go to Franz Kraus, Johannes Steurer and Wolfgang Riedel for your design and progression of the Arrilaser Film Recorder. A technical achievement award (Academy certificate) would go to Andrew Clinton and Mark Elendt for your invention and integration of micro-voxels inside the Mantra software. A scientific and engineering award (Academy plaque) would go to Radu Corlan, Andy Jantzen, Petru Pop and Richard Toftness for your design and engineering in the Phantom number of high-speed cameras for motion-picture production Dr. Juergen Noffke for your optical design and Uwe Weber for your mechanical type of the Arri Zeiss Master Prime Contacts for movie photography Michael Lewis, Greg Marsden, Raigo Alas and Michael Vellekoop for your concept, design and implementation in the Pictorvision Eclipse, an electronically stable aerial camera platform E.F. "Bob" Nettmann for your concept and system architecture, Michael Sayovitz for your electronic packaging and integration, Kaira Fritzel for your electronic engineering and Fred Burns for your mechanical engineering in the Stab-C Classic, Super-G and Stab-C Compact backing heads John D. Lowry, Ian Caven, Ian Godin, Kimball Thurston and Tim Connolly to build up an exceptional and efficient system for your reduction in noise together with other products, therefore delivering high-quality images needed with the filmmaking process Fujifilm Corp., Hideyuki Shirai, Dr. Katsuhisa Oozeki and Hiroshi Hirano for your design and progression of the Fujifilm black-and-white-colored recording film Eterna-RDS 4791 for use inside the archival repair off film and digital images.
